An accomplished saxophonist, emcee and DJ, Gabriel performs beautifully on the saxophone & is a nationally renowned, award winning DJ. The talented entertainer is also a former AM & FM radio personality.
Several years ago he emceed and played sax at a friends' wedding accompanied by a karaoke machine. After that, he got so many requests to do similar events that he formed The JAM Factory mobile entertainment company. Gabriel laughs, "I graduated from a K-Mart karaoke machine to a truck-load of professional equipment almost overnight".
As a saxophonist, Gabriel plays classic tunes from almost any genre & as a DJ, "Anything with a definitive beat is fair game" he says. "It's fun to mix an old Stevie Wonder groove into some of the newer music like Beyonce or Justin Beiber without missing a beat." "People seem amazed when I join them on the dance floor while playing my saxophone at the same time", he says.
Gabriel toured for three years with Southern Soul legend, the late Marvin Sease as the saxophonist & featured soloist. He has also shared the stage with such celebrities as Steve Harvey, Junior Walker, Public Enemy, Dorothy Norwood and Shirley Caesar.
He has received many honors in his hometown of Memphis; including Gospel Instrumentalist of the Year (1996) and a Radio Announcers award (2001). He won a national DJ award in 2005 when he defeated DJs from across the United States to win first place in a competition sponsored by WeDJ.com in Nassau, Grand Bahamas. Also in 2005, he was the opening act for The Manhattans at the Silver Star Achievement Awards Banquet.
Gabriel has entertained at hundreds of weddings and private events throughout the southern United States as well as corporate events for such clients as Methodist Hospital, Federal Express, Belz Corp & others.
